About the App

Essential Habits is a personal productivity app that helps you track daily habits, tasks, long-term goals, and notes. It is available on the Google Play Store.

Data We Collect

Essential Habits collects only the information you voluntarily provide:

• Email address — used solely for account creation and authentication.
• App content — the habits, tasks, goals, and notes you create within the app.
• App preferences — your theme choice (light/dark) and notification settings.

We do not collect: precise location data, device identifiers, contacts, photos, health data, browsing history, or any information from other apps on your device.

How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate your account and sync your data across devices you own.
• To display your habits, tasks, goals, and notes within the app.
• To send habit reminder notifications (only if you enable them).

Your data is used exclusively to provide the app’s core functionality. It is never used for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.

Data Storage

Your data is stored:

1. Locally on your device using secure local storage.
2. In the cloud on Supabase (our backend provider) so you can sync across devices and recover your data if you change phones.

Supabase servers are hosted in secure data centers with industry-standard encryption.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party service:

• Supabase — provides authentication and cloud database storage. Supabase processes your email and app content solely for the purpose of operating the backend. Supabase’s privacy policy is available at: https://supabase.com/privacy

We do not use any analytics services, advertising networks, crash reporters, or tracking tools.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party. Your data is only accessible to you through your authenticated account.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data at any time — everything you’ve entered is visible within the app.
• Delete your data — you can delete individual items (habits, tasks, goals, notes) or reset all app data from the Settings screen.
• Delete your account — go to the settings screen and tap “Delete my account”. This permanently removes your cloud-stored data. Local data can be cleared by uninstalling the app.
• Use the app without an account — a guest mode is available that stores all data locally on your device without any cloud storage.

Data Retention

• With an account: Data is stored in the cloud until you delete it or delete your account.
• Guest mode: Data is stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all local data.
• Account deletion: When you sign out and choose to delete your data, cloud records are removed within 30 days.

Children’s Privacy

Essential Habits is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
